Usual, extremely well-produced Porsche Museum series -- excellent printing, paper, photos and information not found anywhere else -- Giugiaro submitted a design under Porsche type 932 for the still born 989. The first 50 pages are devoted to 4 seat designs prior to the Panamera. Lots of designer’s sketches, drawings, models. Confirmed is the hunch back appearance of the first Panamera was at Weideking’s insistence for headroom -- obviated later by the Sport Torisimo wagen. 

Perhaps the most interesting chapter is on prototyping; not cars but the assembly line -- how and where to fit the robots and precisely time the assembly sequence. this ll takes place, unsurprisingly in a huge dedicated room

A beautiful book, unjustifiably to be ignored by Panamera owners, who don’t seem to be interested in books and 911 owners not interested in four door sedans.
