Two things you should know about an Edition Porsche Museum book: as befits a book whose function is to help sell Porsches it is superbly produced on fine paper with information from the Porsche arkives to be found no where else and you will not find a discouraging word.

An absolutely spectacular book with photos and history from 1931. First time an Edition Porsche Museum book not only recognizes Adolf Rosenberger’s importance as founding partner but prints his photograph. It doesn’t mention how shabbily he was treated when forced to flee. And it also admits that the Volkswagen (while directed by Anton Piech) used forced labor during World War 2, showing a new maturity by Porsche. 

The photography is superb and the technical drawings are fascinating. Who knew what the type 176 Ostrad tractor or Porsche type 110 tractor or even the back bone chassis of the type 32 for Zundapp looked like? I am fascinated by the never before seen photos -- how about Werks 1 from the back? Almost a quarter of the book is devoted to the 356 and older period and half the book through the air-cooled period.

This is a must-have book.
